NO-FRILLS SAVING BANK ACCOUNT FOR FINANCIAL INCLUSION OF POOREST/DESERVING SECTIONS OF SOCIETY
To ensure the financial inclusion of the poorest / deserving sections of the society, PNB has launched a No-frills Savings Bank Account Scheme known as PNB ‘MITRA’ SAVINGS BANK ACCOUNT that can be opened by an INDIVIDUAL singly or jointly, minors of the age of 10 years and above, minors under natural/legal guardianship. An illiterate or a visually impaired person is also eligible to open account under the scheme with usual safeguards. Simplified KYC procedures may be adopted for opening of these accounts.

- For these accounts, minimum balance/initial balance requirement would be ZERO.
- No cheque book is to be issued under the Scheme.
