There is no particular time slab for a fixed deposit that is right for every investor. In fact, the right time slab will depend upon each individual investor after considering his/her requirements and the kind of returns that he/she wants to earn. In that sense each individual investor has to consider his/her specific position and then decide upon the time period for the fixed deposit. The other thing is that the right time slab for the investor can change over a period of time as the various requirements also change. Also, the conditions from the side of the borrower of the funds will also change as the interest rates keep changing for the various time slabs based upon the requirements of the funds.
